Nile River, Egypt

Setting sail in 2026, Nile Seray brings contemporary elegance to luxury cruising on Egypt’s timeless river. The most spacious of A&K Sanctuary’s Egyptian fleet, it has two high-end dining areas, a spa and a gym, and a chic top deck with the feel of a private club – canopied daybeds around a swimming pool, alongside an outdoor lounge, cooled by the breeze and shaded beneath canopies shaped like dahabiya sails. All of the 32 suites have Juliet balconies overlooking the banks of the Nile, and two have balconies, each with a private jacuzzi. But it is more than simply a floating sanctuary; this all-suite Nile riverboat offers front-row seats to the showstopping sights and stories of Ancient Egypt as guests cruise between Luxor, the once-glorious capital known as Thebes, and Aswan, where archaeologists are still uncovering remarkable finds. Every day brings new discoveries through insider-led excursions – going ashore to delve into tombs, temples and hidden treasures accompanied by A&K Sanctuary’s best-in-the-business Egyptologists, gaining exclusive insider access to certain tombs, and exploring the islands of the Nile on small sailing boats to experience local life.

THE RIVERBOAT

The newest, sleekest member of our Nile fleet

A new chapter in Nile cruising

Nile Seray is A&K Sanctuary's fifth riverboat in Egypt, ushering in a new era of luxury on the river that has captivated travelers for millennia. Designed for 64 guests, with an exceptional staff-to-guest ratio of 1.5:1, this all-suite Nile riverboat combines modern sophistication with a deep sense of place, rooting you in both Ancient Egypt and its vibrant living culture. Handcrafted furniture and mashrabiya-inspired details showcase Egyptian artistry, while interiors finished in local marble and quartzite link the vessel to its surroundings. Each of the 32 suites is a characterful, comfortable, contemporary cocoon – as is fitting for the latest launch in the Nile fleet.

The riverboat’s ample spaces are cleverly designed in soothing neutral tones and natural materials to invite relaxation and downtime after the thrill of time-traveling daily excursions. Up on the expansive sun deck, the pool is edged by shaded cabanas to retreat to following refreshing dips, and the chic bar and lounge serves ice-clinking drinks to sip in the balmy afternoon heat. There’s also an indoor bar and lounge, where the staff expertly mix signature cocktails and locally inspired drinks and floor-to-ceiling windows frame an ever-changing riverscape as the riverboat cruises along. Generous buffet breakfasts are laid out in the dining area (of which there are both indoor and outdoor options, each with sweeping Nile views). When you are seeking a break from the sun, head to the lower-deck spa, which has two treatment rooms for pampering massages, or work out using the high-spec Technogym equipment in the gym. Although you are sailing past some of the most timeless scenes on earth, rest assured that Nile Seray has all the modern touches you would expect; for example, wifi is available throughout and there is an elevator.

Nile Seray is A&K Sanctuary’s most spacious riverboat – it is redefining cruising on the Nile and it is continuing a story that began in 1977 when Geoffrey Kent, inspired by a chance meeting with actor David Niven on the set of Death on the Nile, first launched A&K Sanctuary’s pioneering Nile cruises.

Southern Egypt, the crucible of Ancient Egyptian culture

The River Nile wends its way more than 4,000 miles from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea. Yet it is the 130-mile section between Aswan and Luxor in southern Egypt that exerts the most powerful hold on the collective imagination. Here are many of the largest, most elaborate and intriguing structures built in ancient times. These include the massive Temple of Karnak, whose size and diversity is the work of the 30 or so pharaohs that contributed to its construction; the Valley of the Kings with its 60 royal tombs; the Valley of the Queens where royal children were also buried; the Temple of Horus in Edfu (one of the best preserved temples in the country); the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to both a crocodile and a falcon-headed god, and the Greco-Egyptian shrine to Isis at the Philae temple complex, painstakingly reconstructed on an island after the original site was threatened by floods. A new luxury Nile cruise for 2026, Nile Seray is an exciting addition to the riverboats navigating these legendary banks between Luxor – formerly known as Thebes and one of the capitals of Ancient Egypt – and Aswan, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities.

Life along this iconic river has played out continuously since the era of pharaohs and their gold-lined tombs. Yet the views remain timeless and breathtaking: alongside those ancient monuments that appear around every bend is the uplifting sight of traditional feluccas under full sail. The river and landscape themselves possess an elemental beauty and, with A&K Sanctuary, your journey along and through them will be exclusive and enlightening. Arriving in either Luxor (a one-hour flight from Cairo) or Aswan (1 hour 30 minutes), relax during a private transfer by road (30 or 45 minutes respectively) to the exclusive docking area where you step aboard Nile Seray. Stopping at key archaeological sites en route from Luxor to Aswan — or vice versa — you will step ashore with an Egyptologist guide who will bring to life 5,000 years of history in the living outdoor museum that is the River Nile.

Your Nile Seray Itinerary

Sailing between Aswan and Luxor on four-night voyages, the new all-suite Nile Seray offers an immersion into the heart of Ancient Egypt. Its expertly crafted voyages are made even more extraordinary by the enviable insider access that you enjoy along the way. You will step back in time with daily excursions led by expert Egyptologists, unlocking the secrets of the Valley of the Kings, the temples of Luxor, Aswan and Karnak – a cult temple dedicated to a trio gods that was the largest religious building ever constructed, alongside the vast complex of chapels and pylons that surrounds it and were built over a period of 2,000 years. This standout Nile cruise also offers exclusive access to some of Egypt’s most notable tombs – for example those of Seti I, Ramses VI, King Tutankhamun, and Amenhotep III – as well as sailings in a traditional felucca; plus hot-air balloon rides, visits to visits to buzzing bazaars where traditional life plays out daily and colorful Nubian villages further south along the Nile at an additional cost, and behind-the-scenes experiences that reveal 5,000 years of history.

FOUR-NIGHT CRUISE - ASWAN TO LUXOR

A downstream journey from the temples of Aswan to Luxor, the capital of Ancient Egypt at the height of its glory and home to more than half of its antiquities. Yet this is also very much a living city, and its vibrant culture is seen in its streetlife and its bustling market, where spice stalls are piled high in a kaleidoscope of colors, hand-crafted jewellery catches the eye and the air is scented with incense and just-picked fruit.

FOUR-NIGHT CRUISE - LUXOR TO ASWAN

An upstream adventure from the ancient city of Luxor to Aswan, the gateway to southern Egypt since 2,000BC. Its quarries provided granite for many of the most impressive monuments of Ancient Egypt, and are still in operation today, producing marble too. The city is also the jumping off point for visits to Elephantine island, once home to a fortress and a hub of military expeditions, and now known for its ancient ruins and archaeological digs.
